Valentine's Day Activities for Kids

With a great start to the new year  the excitement for Valentine's Day is quickly approaching. The holiday this year may look a little different for most. I'm doing my best to make this Valentine's Day as fun as possible while taking into consideration social distancing practices. I would like to share various activities that you can do from the comfort of your own home. Check them out below.

1. Make Valentine crafts at home!  - There are so many crafts that you can make at home with kids. Pinterest is always my go to for craft ideas. I'm ordering heart craft sets and we plan to make a few nature themed Valentine crafts. This website gives instructions on how to make nature heart wands! I thought a heart bird feeder would be fun to make as well!

2. Mail Valentine cards to family and friends. - Either handmade or store bought, would be the perfect way to show people you care.

3. Read Valentine or love themed books. - Here are a few chapter books that we plan to read for Valentine's Day. I also have book suggestions for younger readers here

4. Make Valentine treats. - I'm not the best cook but I have found some beautiful recipes that I would like to attempt to make to bring on the Valentine cheer! These chocolate covered pretzels look so yummy and simple to make. My daughter suggested that we try making Valentine's Day Chocolate Drizzled Popcorn.  Lastly, I am obsessed with peppermint bark, so I would like to try making Valentine's Day Bark

These activities would be fun for anyone having a socially distanced Valentine's Day. A virtual meetup with friends wile doing some of the crafts or cooking would make Valentine's extra fun.  I am thrilled to do these activities this Valentine's Day with my little lady. Do you have any Valentine plans? Let me know in the comments! Until next time.
