I wanted to share the books that I am diving into and hopefully finishing before the end of the summer. In January, I set a goal of reading 1 book per month, but I haven't stuck to that goal. Reading at night is so hard, I fall asleep super early which doesn't really leave time to read. So lately I've been forcing myself to stay up and read. Here is what I'm reading.

1.
You Are a Badass
by Jen Sincero- I started listening to this audio book on Hoopla. It's okay, reminds me a lot of the book
The Secret. I'm sure I will finish listening to it, people are raving about this book. I think I'll pick up a hard copy also.
2.
GIRLBOSS
by Sophia Amoruso - This has been on my reading list for months and I was finally able to pick it up from the library. I watched the #GirlBoss series on Netflix and it was okay. I'm hoping the book is better though.
3.
My Not So Perfect Life: A Novel
by Sophie Kinsella - Sophie Kinsella is one of my favorite authors if not my favorite. I really enjoyed the Shopaholic series of books and I'm sure this book will be excellent as well.
4.
To All the Boys I've Loved Before
by Jenny Han - This book was recommended by a parenting podcast and luckily, I won it in an Instagram giveaway! I've started reading it and I like it so far. I would love to eventually read the whole series which includes two other books,
P.S.I Still Love You and
Always And Forever Laura Jean.
5.
Peaceful Parent, Happy Kids
by Laura Markham - My favorite types of books are self help books and now parenting books. No, you don't learn how to parent from a book, but I do believe parenting books can give you amazing insight and advice on something that I'll be doing for the rest of my life. I am especially drawn to books that are about peaceful parenting, attachment parenting, natural parenting, so this book is right up my alley! I'll be listening to this book on Hoopla as well.
What books have/are you reading this summer? I'm thinking of joining the website Good Reads. Are any of you on Good Reads? Let me know in the comments! Until next time.

Awesome list! I loved the Shopaholic series, too, but I didn't know about this book! Can't wait to read it!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read it too!
DeleteWow - you're ambitious! I can't read before bed b/c I'll stay up all night reading/be exhausted the next day, so it takes me forever to get through a book! #4 and #5 look like ones I'll have to add to my (very long) to-read list!
ReplyDeleteInteresting list! Some of those titles reminded me of Tina Fey's book BossyPants--if you haven't read it, you should!
ReplyDeleteYou Are A Badass was a great audiobook! Jen narrates it herself and I really enjoyed it. And then I enjoyed To All The Boys I've Loved Before and the rest of the series as quick and light reads!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your reading list this month!!
Awesome list. I also love to read books. I'll check this out.
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice to have a list of my own too! If you're interested in a book on addventures and science fiction you should read or listen to the audio book - The Martian... i loved the audio book!

What a great list! I wish I had more time to read, but if I'd have to choose one for now, I'd choose #5, the parenting one. Let us know what you think of them.
ReplyDeleteGirlboss has been on my list forever! I just need to pick it up start reading it. :)
ReplyDeleteI saw the first one at Target and took a picture of it so I would remember to go back to it! If you think it's just okay, maybe I'll take it off my list. Though I don't really have any similar books on my list, so I might be more interested.
ReplyDeleteIt's only okay to me because it reminds me so much of The Secret. If you haven't read anything about the Law of Attraction, then yes, go ahead and pick this book up. If not, save your money and check it out from the library.
DeleteThanks for the suggestions. I've been wanting to read #girlboss, I have been hearing a lot about it.
ReplyDeleteThose look like interesting books. I've been eyeing the badass one. I wish I had more time to read!
