March Activities for Kids

The month of March is a fun time in the year. It represents the start of the Spring season, there are fun holidays in March and the month is Women's History month. I am ready for the warmer weather and being outdoors. I would like to share some activities that you can do from the comfort of your own home to make this month just as fun as previous months!

1. Prepare for your spring garden. - Flower and food gardening is a fun hobby so we will be making crafts to decorate the yard and the garden. We will also finally be able to order butterfly larvae to raise, observe, and release this spring!

2. Have a craft day! - Pinterest is filled with craft inspiration and is usually my go to when looking for something specific. This cute Egg Carton Flower craft looks really simple to make. How pretty is this Spring Tree Broccoli painting?! I think we will follow these exact steps, paint on canvas, and hang it on the wall. A tree broccoli painting would be nice to make for each season too. Windsocks are always fun to make and these Cherry Blossom Windsocks are so pretty! We don't have many Cherry Blossom trees here but a nice spin on these would be a Dogwood Windsock!

3. Read March themed books.

4. Make yummy, March themed snacks. - I'm actually not a big snacker and neither is my daughter. Shocker, yes I know! But themed snacks are fun to make and enjoy occasionally. This website has 35 St. Patrick's Day recipes to enjoy. Shamrock Bark, umm yes please! My go to recipe would probably this St. Patrick's Snack Board and I could definitely see myself eating these Healthy Snacks for Little Leprechauns

4. Learn about amazing women in history. - March is Women's History Month and we will be learning about some awesome women who made wonderful contributions to our world. Here are some coloring pages and printables to guide you.
