Atlanta Spring and Summer Festivals You Don't Want To Miss

It is finally festival season! I'm ready to spend my weekends hanging out with my kiddo enjoying the sun, music, and art! Here are some of the best festivals that Atlanta has to offer this spring and summer. Some of these festivals may be outside of Atlanta but are still fun to attend. There are of course other festivals that are not listed, but I have chosen to list the family friendly festivals with children's areas. Have a look below and please click the links for more information.

1. Inman Park Festival April 28-29, 2018 -  There will be vendors, and artist market, food, kids activities and a parade happening on Saturday at 2pm.

2. All About Kids Expo  April 28, 2018 10am-3pm (Outside of Atlanta) - I haven't heard of this festival before but it looks fun! There will be a family fun zone as well as vendors for daycares, summer camps, healthcare and education.

3. Smyrna Jonquil Festival April 28-29, 2018 (Outside of Atlanta) - I miss this festival every year! Hopefully I can attend this year. There will be music, vendors, food, and a children's area.

4. Decatur Lantern Parade May 11, 2018 9pm (Outside of Atlanta) - We went to our first lantern parade last year for Halloween and it was exciting! You can find pre-decorated lanterns at the Dollar Tree or blank ready-to-decorate lanterns at Party City. I think we will decorate our own lanterns this year to take to the festival!

5. Chastain Park Arts Festival May 12-13, 2018 - This art festival happens twice a year and I have heard good things about it. There will be arts and crafts, music, vendors, and a children's area. Free to attend.

6. Old Fourth Ward Arts Festival May 26-27, 2018 - One of my favorite festivals! There will be great music, beautiful artwork, food, vendors, and a children's area.

7. Atlanta Jazz Festival May 26-27, 2018 - If you are in town for Memorial Day Weekend, you have to attend this Atlanta favorite! It features jazz legends on multiple stages at Piedmont Park. There is also a kids area! Free to attend.

8. Roswell Lavendar Festival June 9, 2018 (Outside of Atlanta) - I've been attending this festival for the past 2 years and it is always a blast! There are all day yoga classes, vendors, music, food, and activities for kids.

9. Virginia Highland SummerFest June 9-10, 2018 - The kids area at this festival is awesome! The music and vendors are great too.

10. Atlanta Ice Cream Festival July 28, 2018 - This is probably my daughter's favorite festival! This festival is usually packed, so go early in the morning. The kids fun zone is nice also.

11. Piedmont Park Arts Festival August 18-19, 2018 - Festivals at Piedmont Park are usually always fun and include a kids area. This festival will also have various types of art for sale, live music and food.

12. Grant Park Festival August 25-26, 2018 - Grant park is one of my favorite parks but I've never attended this festival. It looks nice though! With 2 music stages, food, vendors, and a kids area, I think I'll make my way over there this year.

13. DragonCon Parade September 1, 2018 10am - Technically not a festival but this parade is not one to miss!
