Summer is in full swing and we are finally getting around to picking up summer themed books from the library. We have a large home book collection but only 1 book about summer. So off to the library we went!
One Hot Summer Day is a fun book about a little girl attempting to play outside in the uncomfortable summer heat. I found this book at Goodwill, they always have a great selection of books. I like that this book is illustrated with photographs. Books: One Hot Summer Day by Nina Crews, Summer by Nicola Baxter, and Summer by Ann Herriges.
Here are the other books that we picked up from the library. Ava really adores Pete the Cat books. We picked up a good mix of fiction and non-fiction books. Ava likes the pictures in the non-fiction books and I prefer real pictures over cartoon pictures also. Books: Aqualicious by Victoria Kann, and Pete At The Beach by James Dean.
We have a daily goal of reading at least 5 books a day. Sometimes it's the same book over and over but mostly we read different books all day. Having this daily goal is beneficial to Ava's learning and she really enjoys reading. Books: Summer by Nuria Roca and Let's Look At Summer by Sarah L. Schuette. What are your children reading for the summer? Let me know in the comments below! Until next time.
