Awesome things my 3.5 year old is doing. 3/100

I've been knee deep into the blogging world and I have seen the sweetest posts where moms are documenting their child's milestones. I completely dropped the ball on digitally documenting milestones for Ava. I have things written down and scrapbooked, but nothing online. I thought maybe it would be a great time to start writing about her development. She is doing some pretty amazing things, so why not?! Here are some awesome things that my 3.5 year old is doing!

Talking - My kiddo talks All. The. Time. All day long, non stop lol. #helpmypoorears But talking is great, it shows that she is paying attention and understanding the world around her.

Being creative - If I let her paint all day, she would. She loves all types of art work, drawing, gluing, coloring, but she loves painting the most. We like going to the High Museum for Toddler Thursdays where they have crafts and toddler tours.

Pretending - One of Ava's favorite ways to play is pretending. She pretends with her animals, her doll house, her kitchen set when she wants to "cook mommy a salad," and with her baby dolls. Now of course when I play with her, I have to pretend exactly the way she wants me to or it's not the same lol. She definitely has a mind of her own.

Making friends - Ava is very friendly. I hear her on the playground going up to other children saying "My name is Ava, what's your name?" "Come on, let's play!" Yes, my little un-socialized homeschooled child knows how to make a friend lol.

"Reading"  - Ava loves to sit and look at books alone. If it is a book that we read often, I hear her saying the words from memory. We go to the library weekly, we read at the library and of course at home, and I think it's adorable that she tries to read a book to herself.

Wanting to "help" - I am working on my patience because now Ava wants to "help" with everything!! From cooking, to cleaning, to even helping mommy in the bathroom (she told me I can't use the potty alone lol). I definitely don't mind her helping with cleaning, but cooking, no thanks lol. Ava can help me clean after I cook!

I definitely have a 3 going on 30 year old lol. I love her literal logic, her spunky personality, I can also appreciate how head strong she is. I'm excited to see what her soon to be 4 year old mind brings as far as development and personality. It seems like documenting annually or biannually may be the way to go. Until tomorrow.

  3. This is such a fun age! And they keep getting more fun the older they get and the more things they can do! I have 4.5 year who is excited about starting preschool next month (school? Already? What?). And I also have a 2.5 year old that I'm wishing was 3 already ha ha. Two is a hard age, but your post reminded me what I have to look forward to.
